Fredericton is well known for its tree canopy that includes over 80 species. Our urban forest consists of thousands of trees, with a great diversity of species, found along city streets, in parks and green spaces, and on private properties. Changes in temperature, unpredictable rain and snow, extreme storms, and the spread of invasive species like the Emerald ash borer threaten the health of Fredericton's urban forests and green spaces.
