The University of Alberta is inviting proposals for the purchase of a Terrestrial Laser Scanner and Accessories for the Faculty of Agricultural, Life and Environmental Sciences – Renewable Resources Department. This document may contain references to specific requirements. The laser scanner and accessories will be used in the field in the forests of Alberta for forest structure description and estimation of single tree attributes from 3D point cloud data collected using the scanner. As such, the scanner must be suitable to transporting to a variety of locations, often on foot, and have an appropriate range and accuracy for generating quality data in forests with a canopy height generally ranging from 10 m to 30 m.
