PRJ33604 - Prime Consultant Services - Student Housing Project

BCIT has confirmed the need for additional student housing located on the Burnaby Campus. The proposed student housing site is currently a surface parking lot situated near public transit on Willingdon Avenue, near existing recreational amenities, and near the existing student housing. The site is also inside the area designated as the higher density core in BCIT's Campus Plan. The proposed new project includes a mix of self-contained studios and rooms in a communal style with private sleeping rooms, shared bathrooms, and common kitchen facilities. Based on BCIT's student housing demand study and objectives for student life programs, the proposed new project includes five (5) floors of single communal style rooms with shared bath and kitchen facilities and six (6) floors of studio suites with private kitchen and bathrooms. The project also includes common areas to support student life programs and to encourage social interaction.

BCIT seeks Respondents with the following:
1. Prime Consultants with demonstrated experience providing professional services to complete full design, construction documents, construction tendering, civic permit approvals, and construction administration for new buildings within the public sector worth $50 million and over within the last 10 years, and
2. Respondents registered as a member of the Architectural Institute of British Columbia (AIBC) in good standing.

Based on the evaluation of responses, certain Respondents will be selected for inclusion on a Pre-qualified Supplier List and will be invited to participate in a Negotiated Request for Proposal (NRFP) for the potential provision of the deliverables to BCIT.
