This Request for Proposals (the “RFP”) is an invitation by IWK Health “IWK” to prospective proponents to submit proposals for the provision of IWK TREKK Parent Video Project.
This RFP includes the following components:
Production of 3 animated videos aimed at teaching parents about their child’s illness in conjunction with the TREKK network and the IWK Parent Video Project Steering committee, (2-7 minutes) in length on each of the following topics: Febrile Seizure, Hand Foot Mouth Disease and Procedural Sedation.
Each of the 3 videos produced are to be translated into Arabic, French and Mi’kmaq via audio and subtitles. Translation must be sourced by Proponent and translated in accordance with the following IWK policy. The IWK Project Manager is able to assist and support with outsourcing translation.

• The IWK acknowledges that the Mi’kmaq language has many dialects, and writing systems. The orthography primarily used throughout the Atlantic Provinces (NS, NFLD, parts of PEI and NB) is the Francis-Smith orthography. For the purpose of this video project with TREKK, and in consultation with surrounding Mi’kmaq communities a consensus was made to use the Francis-Smith writing system. The spoken dialect chosen for this project is of the Mi’kmaq communities in the Atlantic Provinces as stated above.
• The Proponent will be required to participate in stakeholder evaluation of each video and adjust and/or edit the video product based on this feedback.
• The videos will be graphically appealing to all education levels and represent diversity/inclusion. The successful proponent will work collaboratively with, and report directly to the IWK Project Manager throughout the production of the videos. The IWK will provide supportive clinical expertise through a designated Project Manager. The work will include, but may not be limited to:
Brand Alignment
• Must work in conjunction with the IWK Health’s Communications & Public Affairs team to ensure alignment with overall branding, mission and values of the IWK including the core concepts of patient and family-centered care.
• Visual design must reference and strengthen established IWK brand standards and content should establish consistent colour, style and fonts throughout; • General aesthetic quality must be child friendly, reassuring, and convey clinical expertise while representing diversity.
Core Content:
• Copywriting to be provided by the IWK/TREKK;
• Logo(s) and any existing brand assets to be provided by the IWK/TREKK;
Stakeholder Engagement & Usability Testing
• The Proponent will be required to participate in stakeholder evaluation of each video and adjust and/or edit the video product based on this feedback.
• It is expected that this will be done virtually and no travel required.
