20-1627 - Compute Platform and Related Services including Server infrastructure & Services

This RFP is open to all interested proponents.
The City is seeking proposals from experienced Proponents for the following services:
Schedule A The provision of server infrastructure (blades, standalone servers, and hyper converged infrastructures) for current and future computing requirements; and

Schedule B The provision of services related to the deployment and operational support of server hardware and related peripherals.
The Preferred Proponent for Schedule A should:
a) Be service focused to the needs of The City;
b) Have well established supplier relationships;
c) Have established clients within Calgary or vicinity where similar services are provided;
d) Offer mainstream computing environments that protects The City’s existing investments;
e) Propose computing environment solutions that are financially responsible and sustainable; and
f) Have the resources and expertise to maximize investments in hardware and virtualization technologies.

The Preferred Proponent for Schedule B should:
a). Be service focused to the needs of The City;
b) Have well established supplier/subcontractor relationships;
c) Have established clients within Calgary or vicinity where similar services are provided; and
d) Provide certified experienced staff to service and support the current and future computing environments.

Existing server disposal and destruction is not within the scope of this RFP.

This procurement process is not intended to create, and, will not create, a formal, legally binding bidding process. It will instead be governed by the law applicable to direct commercial negotiations.
It is the intention of The City to award each of the schedules separately to the highest ranked Proponent of each schedule as follows:
• One (1) Agreement for the provision of Schedule A; and
• One (1) Agreement for the provision of Schedule B of the Deliverables.
However, The City reserves the right to award both of the schedules to a single Proponent if deemed necessary and is in the best interest of The City.

The Agreement for each schedule will be for a Term of three (3) years and may be renewed for two (2) renewal periods of three (3) years each. The total duration of the contract shall not exceed nine (9) years.
