Description

The Calgary and Edmonton Police Services have jointly owned AFIS technology since 1986. The existing CPS/EPS AFIS system is a MorphoBIS (IDEMIA) AFIS which was purchased in 2010 and implemented in 2011. The CPS/EPS AFIS system provides tenprint and latent fingerprint storage and search capability to major police agencies in the provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan and supports the objective of providing agencies with positive identification of individuals through the rapid and accurate processing of criminal and civil ten-print transactions.

References to The City in this RFP shall be deemed to include references to the CPS, EPS and RPS, where appropriate.
The new AFIS solution should include workstations, associated hardware and such features as superior encoding and matching accuracy, faster identification processing, tailored and flexible workflows, a statistical reporting system, and a scalable design to allow for future growth and addition of modern biometric identification peripherals. Minor modification or configurations may be considered to ensure the solution meets the various police services growing functional needs.

The City will consider on premise solutions, Software as a Service (SaaS) or a combination of thereof.
