This Request for Proposals (the “RFP”) is an invitation by Strathcona County (“the County”) to prospective proponents to submit proposals for AVL (GPS) Fleet Tracking Telematics Solution, as further described in Section A of the RFP Particulars (Appendix D) (the “Deliverables”).
The County’s Fleet Services department is undertaking a project to consolidate the various Global Positioning System (GPS) tracking systems utilized by different departments on County vehicles and equipment. Currently, the County is using approximately three (3) types of GPS systems, which are installed in approximately 360 fleet vehicles and equipment.
The project will involve the supply, installation and on-going maintenance of a GPS vehicle tracking system. The project will also involve replacing the approximately 360 installed GPS units, and installing GPS units in approximately another 100 fleet vehicles and equipment. The objective of this project is to acquire a COTS solution that not only meets current business requirements (such as integrating with the County’s fleet management solution) but will support the development and desired future goals of Fleet Services (such as integrations with the County’s GIS and ERP software).
