334342 - NOI Recreational Ammonia Refrigeration Ice Plant Services

Notice is hereby given by the City of Kamloops of its intent to request quotes for services only from Recreational Ammonia Refrigeration service providers in the BC area. These providers are to include Cimco Refrigeration, Yeti Refrigeration and Fraser Valley Refrigeration.


Scope of Services
a. Scope of Services will include but not limited to the provision of:
i. Scheduled inspections,
ii. Repairs as needed,
iii. Emergency services with a 2 hour response time,
iv. Permit requirements and,
v. Response times and days to be 24/7 365 days of the year with the staff to support.

b. The City's Arenas include:
i. Sandman Centre,
ii. McArthur Island Sport & Event Centre,
iii. Memorial Arena,
iv. Valleyview Arena and
v. Brock Arena.

c. Mandatory Requirements
i. Industrial Municipal Recreational Ammonia customers / references - in good standing
ii. Qualifications to include: Technical Safety BC Certificate of qualification Refrigeration Mechanic; boiler and pressure vessels contractor license.
iii. Must meet the requirements of the Safety Standards Act, General Regulation, Power Engineers, Boiler, Pressure Vessel and Refrigeration Safety Regulation, CSA B52 and any other applicable codes or standards.

Sole Source Justification
It is the City's supposition that the providers noted above are likely the only companies able to respond to urgent and emergency requests for services, and have a background in municipal Arenas with the staff sufficient to cover 365 days of the year.
