20-1708 - Supply & Delivery of Liquid Oxygen with Maintenance Services

Water Services, a Business Unit within The City of Calgary, requires a qualified vendor to supply and deliver bulk Grade B liquid oxygen to the Fish Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) on an as-needed basis. The successful vendor will also be responsible for providing all required maintenance services for The City’s liquid oxygen storage equipment.
Liquid oxygen is used at the Fish Creek WWTP to support aerobic digestion within the plant’s oxygen activated sludge process.
The Preferred Proponent will be required to supply a guaranteed delivery of Grade B liquid oxygen on an as-needed basis in order to maintain City stock levels and efficient process performance.
The Preferred Proponent will also be required to administer a preventative maintenance program for the storage equipment and to provide corrective maintenance on the equipment as needed.
The estimated volume of this contract is 320,000 m3 per year, but actual quantities ordered will vary.

The highest rated proponent will be requested to enter an Agreement with The City for the provision of the Deliverables. The term of the Agreement may include a Proof of Concept, with an option in favour of The City to renew the Agreement on the same terms and conditions for an initial term of up to two (2) years. After the initial term, The City will have an option to renew the Agreement on the same terms and conditions for four (4) additional two (2) years terms for a potential total term of ten (10) years.

This procurement process is not intended to create and will not create a formal legally binding bidding process and will instead be governed by the law applicable to direct commercial negotiations.
