Description

PURPOSE:
School District 46 (District) intends to purchase quality band instruments from a reputable supplier or suppliers of these products. Instruments should be new or in as new or excellent condition with less than two years of use. The District reserves the right to inspect any instruments offered before acceptance and will return any instruments found to be not acceptable.

BACKGROUND:
All these instruments are intended for beginning band students who are enrolled in Grade 6 and 7 (usually aged 11-12). Instruments should therefor be of a quality to withstand occasional rough handling.

SCOPE:
The District is only interested in purchasing quality instruments that will be used by students learning and playing in classroom and band performance venues. The District prefers instruments manufactured by Yamaha; Conn/Selmer including King, Conn, Bach, Selmer (some), LeBlanc, and Vito brands. The District may also consider Jupiter flutes and clarinets as acceptable.
