Description

Northern Lakes College has issued this Request for Proposal for the Architecture, Engineering, Design,
Contract Administration, and Commissioning for a Solar PV System that achieves Net Zero and Carbon
Neutral Energy Usage for the newly constructed High Prairie Consolidated Campus.
Northern Lakes College is inviting firms with demonstrated experience completing commercial Solar PV
Systems in Post-Secondary institution buildings, and that are licensed to practice in the Province of Alberta
to respond to this Request for Proposal (RFP) for Prime and Coordinating Sub-consultant Services.
The proposed team should be led by a Prime Consultant, with significant technical expertise and project
leadership in Solar PV Systems, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Structural
Engineering.
The College is seeking the following disciplines which may be required to successfully complete this
project:
Architectural
Solar PV System Design and Specifications, and Building Energy Assessment/Modelling
Building Code and Permitting
Electrical
Civil
Structural
The project is to be designed using Building Information Modelling “BIM” LOD 100 (at a minimum) and
constructed to LEED Silver Certification Standards. As such, the successful Proponent shall provide
services to monitor the design and construction according to plans and specifications, and ensure that
LEED Silver Certification is maintained. The Proponent will be also be required to function as the BIM
model manager.
In their response to this RFP, Proponents will demonstrate and document how their process, design, and
execution will address and align with Net Zero, and the Carbon Neutral Energy Usage deliverable required
by this RFP
