Description

This Request for Bids is for the provision of supply chain management services including the distribution of publicly funded influenza vaccines to community pharmacies across Ontario during the 2021/22 Universal Influenza Immunization Program (UIIP) for the Ministry of Health.
Scope of Work
The Vendor(s) will provide specialized cold chain vaccine distribution services for the primary purpose of distributing publicly funded influenza vaccines to community pharmacies located across Ontario. It is anticipated that there will be approximately 3,300 pharmacy that will participate in the 2021/22 UIIP. A list of approved pharmacies that are participating in the 2021/22 UIIP and their corresponding public health unit (PHU) will be provided to the Vendor(s).

The Vendor(s) will provide an order management system where pharmacies can order publicly funded influenza vaccines online. As there is no cost to the pharmacies for publicly funded influenza vaccines, there will be no fees payable by the pharmacies receiving the influenza vaccine. Any pharmacies requesting publicly funded influenza vaccines can utilize the Vendor(s)’ order management system without incurring any costs from the Vendor(s).

Influenza vaccine distribution providers may use refrigerated trucks or qualified cold chain pack-outs to maintain cold chain (+2°C to +8°C) temperature control.

Third party vaccine distributor(s) are required to have appropriate licensing for the storage and distribution and transport of vaccines in compliance with Health Canada’s Guidelines for Temperature Control of Drug Products during Storage and Transportation (GUI-0069).
