Re: Walking School Bus Pilot for Elementary Students

Notice is hereby given by the City of Vancouver ("City") of its intent to contract with
Dedicated Action for School Health in BC ("DASH-BC") for a Walking School Bus Pilot
for elementary students.

The City of Vancouver Transportation Planning Branch is to deliver a Walking School
Bus Pilot at five (5) elementary schools in the Vancouver (SD39) region during the
school year of 2021-2022 in partnership with TransLink and the Province of BC. A
Walking School Bus is an organized group of children, caregivers and paid or volunteer
facilitators that walk to school together on a regular basis. This initiative will pilot 3
different models of the Walking School Bus in order to determine which is the most
successful for impact, sustainability and cost efficiency.

DASH-BC has worked with a variety of partners for over 25 years. The City will offer a
one-year contract with possibility of extension.

The contract is valued at approximately $20,000 CND.
