Sealed Tenders, clearly marked as to content, will be received by Planning & Engineering, Wetaskiwin City Hall, 4705 – 50 Ave, Wetaskiwin, Alberta, T9A 0R8 up to 2:00:00 pm hours local time on Thursday May 13, 2021 for the “62 Street Reconstruction”. The time will be conclusively determined using the National Research Council of Canada Webclock at http://time5.nrc.ca/webclock_e.shtml.
All tenders will be EVALUATED, see section 00 21 13 for instructions. The final results will not be released by the City.
The Work to be undertaken is generally described as 62 Street Reconstruction in the City of Wetaskiwin and includes the following scope of work:
• Asphalt Surface Removal 40 m2
• Cold Milling Asphalt Pavement (50mm) 50 m2
• Excavation (Common, Borrow, and Unsuitable Materials) 8,400 m2
• Subgrade Preparation (150mm depth) 7,800 m2
• Gravel Final Surfacing (Des 3, Class 20) (100mm depth)
• Granular Base Course (Des 3, Class 20) (250mm depth) – PROVISIONAL
• Asphalt Concrete Pavement (ACP) (90mm depth) - PROVISIONAL 7,700 m2

Substantial Completion Date is September 3, 2021
Starting 2:00:00 pm hours local time, Thursday April 22, 2021, Tender Documents and Drawings may be obtained from City of Wetaskiwin Planning & Engineering between the hours of 8:30am to 12:00pm and 1:00pm to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday. City Hall is closed between 12:00pm and 1:00pm, tenders cannot be picked up or dropped off at this time. An electronic version of Tender Documents and Drawings may also be obtained by emailing engineering@wetaskiwin.ca. Contact information must be provided at the time of pickup. A non-refundable payment to City in the amount of $35.00 will be required for each set documents, electronic or paper. Bidders must regularly check Alberta Purchasing Connection for Addenda.
Vendors are completely responsible for ensuring that their bids reach the correct final location prior to the bid submission deadline. Fax, email and other non-hard copy forms of bids or amendments WILL NOT be accepted.
A bid bond or certified cheque for the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Tender Price is to accompany each Tender. Submission of a Tender by the Bidder gives the City the right to require the Bidder to execute the Contract and to perform the Work as set out within the Tender Documents. Tenders may not be withdrawn at or after the Tender submittal deadline and will be irrevocable and open for acceptance by the City for a period of sixty (60) days following the Tender submittal deadline.
The bidder acknowledges and will be willing to accept the role of prime contractor pursuant to the occupational health and safety act requirements and by submission of a bid acknowledges that it has the capability of fulfilling this requirement.
Bidders are responsible to regularly check Alberta Purchasing Connection (APC) for Addenda.
The City reserves the right, without prejudice, to reject any or all Tenders.
The City of Wetaskiwin contracts have changed, and Contractors must fully read and understand the responsibilities outlined in this document before submitting a bid.
The deadline for contractor questions will be received up to 4:30:00pm local time, Thursday, May 6, 2021. Any questions received after this time will remain unanswered.
