Description

Consulting services are required for the development of a Comprehensive Growth Study to guide the future planning and development of the Town of Whitecourt with a 50 year outlook. This study will be used to inform the Town’s statutory plans, long term infrastructure and financial plans, economic development strategies, and land use development policies.

The main focus of the Comprehensive Growth Study will be to project the municipality’s future growth, and to determine how much land will be required to accommodate that growth (both inside and outside of the Town’s current municipal boundaries). The Growth Study should look at both short and long-term growth objectives, the type of growth contemplated (i.e. residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional), and provide rationale for that growth. The Growth Study will also look at the sustainability of our community under low, medium, and high growth scenarios and provide recommendations for suitable growth directions and strategies to sustain that growth.
