Alberta Education released its draft curriculum for Kindergarten to Grade 6 in March 2021, in alignment with The Guiding Framework for the Design and Development of Kindergarten to Grade 12 Provincial Curriculum, and Ministerial Order on Student Learning, and will be piloting the draft curriculum in a number of schools beginning in September 2021.

In order to support schools, Alberta Education is considering how resources are selected and provided; as well as determining the most effective resources to support curriculum implementation. This Pre-Qualification Request provides an opportunity for pre-qualifying vendors who have Existing Learning and Teaching Resources (“LTR”) and/or the expertise to develop Custom LTRs and/or provide Additional Services that align with and can be used to support the teaching and learning of Alberta’s curriculum.

The draft curriculum is currently receiving public input in preparation for piloting in September 2021 and full implementation in 2022. Proponents may submit a Proposal any time during the Submission Period described in section 6.2 of the PQR document. It is anticipated that screenings will occur twice-monthly until September 30, 2021 and then on a monthly basis beginning October 2021, with the final screening occurring within one month of the PQR Closing Date.
