Description

The Vancouver Island Regional Library invites written Quotations from qualified Contractors for renovations at the Port Alice Library located at 951 Marine Drive, Port Alice, BC. The Contractor will provide all materials required and supply all services, equipment, tools, labour and permits necessary to complete the work as specified in the Scope of Work

Scope of Work:
Demolition:

Remove and Dispose of existing Circulation desk
Remove and Dispose of shelving that faces the toilet in storage/washroom area
Remove and Dispose of all cabinets and shelving behind Circulation desk
Remove and Dispose of shelving protruding into the branch from wall shelving area
Remove and Dispose of all curtains, rods and wooden valances
Remove and Dispose of all flooring and transition strips (excluding washroom)

Electrical:

Disconnect electrical on existing Circulation desk
Reinstall electrical and data to new circulation desk (Circulation desk supplied by Owner)
Ensure Electrical and data is correctly positioned for the installation of the new cabinetry and appliances along wall behind Circulation desk (Cabinetry and appliances supplied by Owner)

Prep:

Patch and sand all holes ready for painting
Prepare all surfaces

Paint: MPI Approved paint and primers.
Paint all walls, all trim and all wooden shelving that is attached to walls - (excluding washroom) - (see spec sheet for color)

Wall directly behind circulation desk to be BLUE;
All other walls, trim and wooden shelving to be WHITE

Supply and install:
Flooring:

Supply and Install all new flooring (excluding washroom) – (see spec sheet for type and color)
Supply and Install all new transition strips and cove base – ( see spec sheet for type and color)

Other:

FRP wall protection board – on wall beneath the AED (see spec sheet for type and color)
Lock for one cabinet behind circulation desk (to be identified onsite by Project Manager)

Install:

Owner supplied bulletin/white boards, clocks, signs etc.
Assemble and install Owner supplied base, wall and full height cabinets and countertop behind circulation desk

Owner supplied refrigerator and microwave
