PHSA 07854 - PHSA 07854 PentaPack Maintenance SA for VGH

Notice is hereby given that Vancouver Coastal Health Authority (the "Health Authority"), through their collective agent Provincial Health Services Authority ("PHSA"), intends to directly award a Contract to the following supplier to provide Service and Maintenance for the Pentapack HP500 Bulk Unit Dose Packager for Vancouver General Hospital for a term of five (5) years at an estimated value of $ 133,000.00 CDN.

Manrex Limited 300 Cree Crescent Winnipeg, MN, R3K 3W9

In accordance with applicable trade agreements, PHSA, as agent for the Health Authority has chosen not to proceed with a competitive process for the following reason:

the goods or services can be supplied only by the selected supplier and no alternative or substitute exists for the following reason:

(a) to ensure compatibility with existing goods, or to maintain specialized goods that must be maintained by the manufacturer of those goods or its representative.

Manrex Limited is the manufacturer and sole distributor of the PentaPack HP500 utilized at Vancouver General Hospital Pharmacy Department. Only Manrex Limited support staff are trained and certified to work on all equipment in the pharmacy department in efforts to ensure all health authority and pharmacy standards are met. As such, the equipment support and service are proprietary and only Manrex technicians are endorsed to service the equipment.

Vendors who wish to challenge this decision should submit a detailed written objection for the attention of Glenn Wong, Buyer, Capital, by email before 12:00pm Pacific Time, Monday, August 16, 2021. PHSA will review any and all issues received by this date and provide due consideration to each objection.
