UHG1006 - Notice of Intent Architectural and Consulting Services

Notice is hereby given by the Peace River School District #60 of its intent to contract with KMBR Architects Planners Inc. for the following service:
 
Architectural Design and Consulting Services of a New Elementary School Gymnasium at Upper Halfway Elementary using a Repeat Build of the Anne Roberts Young Elementary Gymnasium.
 
 
The anticipated term of the contract is from November 2021 to December 2022, not to exceed $250,000 in total potential value (not including approved disbursements).
 
The School District has chosen not to call for proposals for the following reasons:
 
KMBR Architects conducted the feasibility study and is familiar with the project’s requirements and existing conditions, which will result in time efficiencies and cost savings.
 
KMBR and their team of consultants has been fully engaged in the design and construction of the Anne Roberts Young Elementary (ARYE) and MMMC that was built in Fort St. John, BC.
 
The Board of Education of School District #60 and their assigned staff have been extensively involved in the design of the ARYE gymnasium.  The resulting design meets the criteria established by the District, and as a result, the District wishes to construct another gymnasium using this design.
 
KMBR has an extensive knowledge of architectural requirements associated with construction in this northern district (environmental/soil issues) and the effects of this information on a repeat build.
 
The School District believes that only this vendor is qualified to perform the services using the intellectual property of this design.
