23C0001-RFP - Enhancing Alberta’s Supply Chain Resiliency and Logistics Capabilities

The Contractor’s work will provide information and recommendations to the Province for government actions required to strengthen Alberta’s supply chain resiliency, and its competitiveness in the growing logistics sector.

The first objective of the project will be to identify Alberta’s supply chain risks, assess the resiliency of Alberta supply chain networks, and examine Alberta’s current and future logistics capacity; this will require completing jurisdictional scans, stakeholder engagement, and data analysis.

This work will provide the foundation for the second objective: providing recommendations on how Alberta can improve supply chain resiliency, and how to expand its logistics sector. Specifically, recommendations will focus on how to predict, prevent, mitigate, and adapt to supply chain disruptions. Recommendations will also focus on how the Province can best utilize Alberta’s competitive provincial advantages to grow the logistics industry.

Three phases of work are required under this contract:
-Phase 1 (a): Identify supply chain risks and assess the resilience of Alberta supply chain networks, as well as logistics capacity and potential for sector growth into the future.
-Phase 1 (b): Jurisdictional scan of best practices.
-Phase 2: Provide recommendations for the Province to improve supply chain resiliency, including policy levers, and the role of the Province in growing logistics capacity and building logistics hubs.
-Phase 3: Provide a Final Report.
