SSSD-2022-002 - Alberta Elder Abuse Prevalence Study

To address the current lack of up-to-date elder abuse prevalence data in Alberta, the Department is seeking a contractor to conduct an elder abuse prevalence study focused on Alberta seniors, applying the new definition of elder abuse. An Alberta prevalence study will provide up-to-date information on the prevalence of elder abuse in Alberta, and provide information on the changes in the prevalence of elder abuse in Alberta since 2015. Up-to-date information on prevalence would also contribute to a body of information used to inform programs and policies that support older adults in Alberta who experience elder abuse. The contract will include designing the study, conducting the study, analyzing results, and compiling results in a final report.
