Description

Notice is hereby given that Provincial Health Services Authority (“PHSA”) as agent for Vancouver Coastal Health (“VCH”), intends to directly award a Contract to the following supplier to provide one (1) NIO Research Review Station which includes associated Services for an estimated value of $226,000.00 CAD.

PHSA has chosen not to proceed with a competitive process for the following reason:

the goods or services can be supplied only by the selected supplier and no alternative or substitute exists for the following reason:

to ensure compatibility with existing products/systems and/or to maintain specialized products that must be maintained by the manufacturer or its representative

The NIO Laser Imaging System is the only commercial Stimulated Raman Histology (SRH) and in-vitro diagnostic device. The system delivers high-resolution images of fresh tissue samples in the OR in minutes. The NIO Laser Imaging System provides an interface for artificial intelligence (AI) applications. This system will be used in research to collect data to improve patients’ outcomes.

Vendors who wish to challenge this decision should submit a detailed written objection for the attention of Estefania Munguia, Buyer, by email before 12:00 pm Pacific Time, May 15, 2023. PHSA will review any and all issues received by this date and provide due consideration to each objection.
