Nature of Requirements: The following is a summary of the statement of work for this requirement.

The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) has a requirement to provide prescription drugs and pharmaceuticals to offenders referred to as patients in this statement of work at Edmonton Institution (EI).

Objectives:

To provide pharmaceutical services to fulfill prescriptions for medications required for the institutional patient population.

Deliverables:

The contractor must perform the following tasks:

(a) Fulfil medication prescriptions and deliver the medications to Edmonton Institution at
(b) Provide generic or least cost alternatives to the prescribed drugs whenever possible.
(c) Maintain adequate supplies to ensure that prescriptions can be filled within 24 hours.
(d) Alert Project Authority there are concerns regarding a patient’s medication or if there is potential for medication interaction.
(e) Provide Pharmacist services accessible seven days per week (including statutory holidays), minimum of 5 hours per day for the filling of prescriptions.
(f) Ensure the pharmacy be located in Edmonton, Alberta, is registered and licensed to provide pharmaceutical services within the province.
(g) Provide a point of contact and backup person for the Project Authority.

Licensing/ /Permit:
(a) The facility must hold a current Pharmacy Licence issued by the Alberta College of Pharmacy.
(b) All pharmacists providing services to CSC must hold valid practice permits issued by the Alberta College of Pharmacy. Upon request by the Project Authority, the Contractor must provide yearly copies of up-to-date documentations confirming the facility’s licensing status, the active permits of the pharmacists delivering the services described in this Statement of Work.
