Notice of Intent to Award a Contract
Notice is hereby given that the City of Abbotsford (the “City”) is contemplating making a direct award of a contract to Stantec Consulting Ltd. (the “Supplier”) for the following:
• Engineering Services – Barrowtown Pump Station Flood Protection Wall

Rationale for Contemplating a Direct Award
The City is contemplating a direct award with the Supplier for the following reasons:
• Due to the unpredictability of severe weather events, it is important that this project be expedited to enable the construction of the flood protection wall before the 2024-2025 high-risk flood season. With the objectives of public security and safety and the protection of human, animal and plant life and health, and given the extent of preliminary investigation and design work required to construct this wall, City staff recommend the single source procurement of the Supplier to meet the following timeline.
