Description

This Request for Information (“RFI”) is issued by His Majesty the King in right of Ontario as represented by the Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry “the Ministry”, for the purposes of gathering information about the marketplace in order to assist in the determination of future purchasing options or requirements. Suppliers are asked to respond to the Ministry and provide the information requested below.
Scope of Work
The Ministry is seeking information from industry vendors pertaining to potential purchasing options of medium category helicopters available or that could become available, their capabilities and functions to support the Ministry with the protection of people, property, and communities from natural hazards. The proposed Ministry owned medium category helicopter could be required to provide the following operations for the Ministry:

• Evacuation of individuals in wildland fire situations;

• Delivery of personnel, cargo, and equipment (or either of them) to a wildland fire line;

• Conduct reconnaissance flights to complete wildland fire assessment reports, and mapping or monitoring of prescribed or active wildland fires;

• Conducting aerial detection patrols;

• Support bombing or bucketing of wildland fires;

• Conduct short/long line operations;

• Conduct night operations using night vision goggle technologies;

• Conduct medivac operations;

• Operate in hazardous conditions, including takeoff and landing in confined areas in dense forest or marsh;

• Aerial assessments; and

• Wildlife capture and fish stocking.
