Island Health has issued this Request for Proposals for the purpose of inviting proposals from consulting firms to undertake services and construction. This Request for Proposal (RFP) is for: Mechanical Engineering Firms. This RFP is for individual consultant firms; it is not for consultant teams. Island Health will engage each of the consultants separately. The main Medical Device Reprocessing Department (MDRD) at Victoria General Hospital (VGH) is highly constrained. While VGH has grown considerably in terms of size and medical programs over the years, the MDRD has undergone only one significant space expansion in 2005 since the hospital was originally constructed in 1983. The MDRD does not meet modern Canadian Standards Association (CSA) or Infection Control standards for multiple priority requirements.
