15528 - PHSA 15528 - Maintenance service for TR19 Cyclotron System

Notice is hereby given that Provincial Health Service Authority (the “Health Authority”), intends to directly award a Contract to the following supplier to provide Maintenance service for TR19 Cyclotron System for BC Cancer for a term of five (5) years at an estimated value $ 660,000.

Advanced Cyclotron Systems Inc. 7280 River Rd, Richmond, BC V6X 2A4, Canada

In accordance with applicable trade agreements, PHSA, as agent for the Health Authority has chosen not to proceed with a competitive process for the following reason: the goods or services can be supplied only by the selected supplier and no alternative or substitute exists for the following reason:

(a) due to an absence of competition for technical reasons

The maintenance service for the TR19 Cyclotron System has been in operation at BC Cancer since 2022. This is a renewal of the service contract for existing equipment, and maintenance is specific to the original vendor. Due to the highly technical and specialized nature of the equipment, third-party providers cannot offer the necessary expertise. Additionally, any parts required for maintenance and repairs are proprietary to the vendor, and third-party parts are not available in the Canadian market.

Suppliers who wish to challenge this decision should submit a detailed written objection for the attention of Nilar Win, Buyer, by email to nilar.win@phsa.ca before 2:00pm Pacific Time, February 24, 2025. PHSA will review any and all issues received by this date and provide due consideration to each objection.
