AB-2025-03754 - 2025 Kananaskis Region Parking Control

Alberta Parks is experiencing significant parking congestion issues and over crowding on weekends and fair-weather days at the most popular Day-Use sites throughout the region.

Adequate controls for managing vehicle congestion and unlawful parking are required to ensure visitation does not exceed the capacity of the site. Controlling vehicle entry during times of high use is a critical component to ensure public and staff safety and that access for emergency vehicles can be maintained. Alberta Parks will implement on-site parking control through contracted services at a number of designated sites on weekends between June 21, 2025 and November 2, 2025. This work will be supported by other complementary Alberta Parks initiatives to engage the public through field officers, visitor centres, and social media to raise awareness and promote cooperation.

This Request for Proposal is for the delivery of parking control services at multiple sites.

The level of service and deployment of resources required is weather dependent and will vary based on visitor use patterns. The proponent will require flexibility to potentially move teams to different Day-Use sites including Day-Use sites not identified in this RFP. This RFP presents a fixed schedule and resource requirements with which to establish contract costs and select the successful proponent based on the level of service provided. The total invoicing for billable services may vary over the term of the contract.
