PROJECT OVERVIEW a) Government owned water management infrastructure in the Oldman River Basin consists primarily of earth and concrete structures. These infrastructures also include electrical, mechanical, and geotechnical components along with electro-mechanical and geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring systems. Regular maintenance must be performed on these systems, and deficiencies with the major structures and the supporting sub-systems are identified during regular inspection by Water Infrastructure and Operations Branch personnel using fall protection equipment.
Alberta Agriculture & Irrigation (AGI), Water Infrastructure and Operations Branch (WIOB) is seeking a Fall Protection Safety Equipment Inspection Service Provider to provide two (2) annual Inspection and Certification Services for all fall protection safety equipment at various water management infrastructure sites located in Southern Alberta. The first inspection will take place starting in October 2023 and the second inspection will start in October 2024.

Inspections will include detailed examination of each item, reporting - including date of inspection, inspector, manufacturer and model #, photos, location, pass/fail, and list of deficiencies as applicable. All portable equipment (ie. Harnesses, lanyards, carabiners, etc.) will be brought to each of the Primary sites for inspection. Non-portable equipment (ie. Davit sleeves, vertical lifelines, etc.) is located at multiple different locations within each site, each of which will require the technician to travel to for inspection. b) AGI is requesting lump sum quotations for the provision of Fall Protection Equipment inspection for all equipment identified in this document at the locations at which each piece of equipment is located. Work will be required to be completed for 2025 inspection by no later than December 15, 2025. Work will be required to be completed for 2026 inspection by no later than December 15, 2026.
