The following is additional information and clarifications related to the Project:
GENERAL INFORMATION
- Bids may be submitted using one of two methods:
o Physical copies may be submitted at 524 Main Street, Sussex, NB.
o Digital copies may be submitted online through the New Brunswick Opportunities Network (NBON).
- The commencement date shall be August 26, 2025.
- The date of substantial completion shall be December 5, 2025.
The following changes or modifications shall be made to the Tender Documents:
TO THE CONTRACT INFORMATION SHEET:
Delete Location of Tender Closing and replace with the following:
Location of Tender Closing: Offers signed under seal, executed and dated, will be received at the office of the Municipality of Sussex, 524 Main Street, Sussex NB, or received online through the New Brunswick Opportunities Network (NBON).
Delete Time of Tender Closing and replace with the following:
Time of Tender Closing: 02:00:00 pm local time, August 21st, 2025.
Delete Completion Date and replace with the following:

TO THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR TENDERERS:
Section 4 (Tender Submission - Place - Time), delete and replace with the following:
4. TENDER SUBMISSION - PLACE - TIME
DELIVERY OF TENDER: Sealed Tenders addressed to Scottie Blake endorsed with the Contract Name, shall be delivered as follows:
(a) UNTIL Tender Closing, August 21st, 2025 - Municipality of Sussex, 524 Main St, Sussex, NB E4E 3E4, or submitted electronically through the New Brunswick Opportunities Network (NBON).
(b) TENDER CLOSING: 02:00:00 pm local time, August 21st, 2025.
(c) Tenders shall be completed on forms provided and shall be submitted in sealed envelopes (physical copy) which shall bear the name of the project if submitting a physical copy, or submitted in Portable Document Format (PDF) if submitting a digital copy.
Section 10 (Commencement), delete and replace with the following:
10. COMMENCEMENT
It is the Municipality's intention to have provided a formal instruction to proceed pending execution of the agreement so the contractor can commence the work by August 26th, 2025.
Section 11 (Completion), delete and replace with the following:
11. COMPLETION
The Contractor will be required to complete work within 30 metres of Trout Creek and a delineated wetland as stipulated in the WAWA permit.
The Contractor will be required to complete work within a designated wellfield as stipulated in the Application for an Exemption to the Wellfield Protected Area Designation Order.
The contract provides for Seventy (70) working days. The Contractor will be required to substantially complete by December 5th, 2025. Please refer to item 21 - Project Closeout for completion certificate requirements.

The following is additional information and clarifications related to the Project:
GENERAL INFORMATION
- To submit a physical bid as per Section 4 (Tender Submission - Place - Time) in the Instructions for Tenderers, no formal registration is required to be placed on a bidders list.
- To submit an electronic bid through the New Brunswick Opportunities Network (NBON), Contractors must have an account registered through the NBON system. Please contact NBON@snb.ca for inquiries regarding account registration.
- It will be the responsibility of the Contractor to determine the location of the laydown area(s) for the Project.
- The reinstatement of Meadow Crescent shall include a pavement structure consisting of 75 mm of base (Type D) asphalt underlain by 300 mm crushed rock or an approved sand and gravel.
- The insurance clause in the General Conditions (Section 34) has been deleted and is governed by the insurance clause in the Instructions for Tenderers (Section 22).
The following changes or modifications shall be made to the Tender Documents:

The following is additional information and clarifications related to the Project:
GENERAL INFORMATION
- The Tender deadline has been extended until 02:00:00 pm local time, August 21st, 2025.
- Payment will be made for constructed quantities measured in the field.
- The Tender Form has been revised and has been attached to this addendum.
- The factual geotechnical report for the project area, dated June 16, 2025, has been attached to this addendum.
- An additional drawing sheet (Figure 1), dated August 6, 2025, has been attached to this addendum.
- The proposed pump manhole in this Tender will be similar to, and shall have the same fittings as, an existing pump manhole at the Gateway Mall flood berm located in Sussex.
- The Watercourse and Wetland Alteration (WAWA) permit is pending. Standard conditions will apply.
- Compaction testing shall be completed as a quality assurance measure at the discretion of the Engineer.

TO THE SPECIFICATION:
Item 101 (Clearing), add the following:
101.4.7 Commercial harvest is permitted within the project area, provided all requirements of the Watercourse and Wetland Alteration (WAWA) permit, and any other applicable regulations, are met.
101.4.7.1 If a subcontractor will be used for commercial harvesting, the subcontractor shall be listed on page TF 7 of the Tender Form.
Item 136 (Subdrain), delete 136.1.1.5 and replace with the following:

608.2.7 R100 riprap placed for the splashpad, as indicated in Sheet C12 of the Plans, shall be underlain by a non-woven geotextile.
608.3.2 The Contractor shall notify the Engineer, in writing, for approval of the non-woven geotextile proposed to be used for the splashpad.
608.3.2.1 The Contractor shall include material specification sheets provided by the manufacturer of the non-woven geotextile.
608.3.2.2 Additional information regarding the non-woven geotextile may be requested by the Engineer prior to acceptance.
Item 608 (Random Riprap), add the following:
608.5.2 The supply and installation of a non-woven geotextile to be used in the splashpad shall be incidental to this Item.

The inverts of the MHs and CBs are approximate. Perform survey to determine the exact location, size and invert of the existing piping at the proposed point of connection and provide the information to the municipality representative to confirm the design. Do not submit shop drawings and do not order chambers and pipe until the design is confirmed.
Sheet C02, remove Note 5 (five), and replace with the following:
The Contractor shall take care not to track mud, debris, and other materials unsuitable for a road surface from the Project area onto Meadow Crescent. If necessary, and at the discretion of the Engineer, the Contractor shall wash down trucks before leaving the Site.
Sheet C02, remove Typical Siltation/Sediment Control Fence Detail, and replace with NBDTI Standard Drawing 602-1.
Sheet C14, Storm Manhole 2400# (STMH-04) detail note:

Every Contractor submitting a tender for this project must be thoroughly familiar with the tendering procedures according to the General Regulations and amendments thereto, a Regulation under the Crown Construction Act.
Documents can be picked up at the office of GEMTEC Consulting Engineers and Scientists Limited located at 124 Greenview Drive, Hanwell, NB or at the Municipality Office located at 524 Main Street, Sussex, NB.
A Bid Bond in the amount of 10% of the tendered amount made payable to the Municipality of Sussex must accompany the tender.
