Contractors are invited to bid on a tender requiring of the installation of a 40 m steel girder bridge complete with panels on the South Anweiler (Big Cedar Br.21) FSR as per the attached designs. The bridge and associated components are located at the Terrace Ministry of Forests Yard. A crane will be provided, if given three days’ advance notice to assist with the loading of the bridge. The bridge superstructure is to be installed on two pile caps on four pipe towers on 4 concrete pads. A bridge consisting of two rail cars on steel pipe towers is currently located at the site and must be completely removed prior to construction. Removed rail cars are to be brought back to Terrace and disposed of at the salvage yard located next to the Ministry office on Kalum St. The 40 m replacement bridge is in two separate sections and will need to be assembled on site. All bridge components (bridge, panels, pile pipe, cross-bracing, ballast wall timbers and concrete pads will be supplied by the Ministry. The replacement bridge is a used structure. Reference documents for assembly are provided in the bid package.
The contract area contains all the typical hazards associated it operating working in a forestry environment. Other road users, tight corners and steep road sections exist. Bidders are strongly advised to view the road with a pickup prior to accessing with a low bed.
All plates and bolts are provided. A professional welder will be required to weld the steel pile pipe and cross bracing. A Professional Engineer will be supplied by the Ministry to oversee the bridge installation and sign off on final construction.

The lowest priced or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.
Unverified bid results will be posted to BC Bid after tender opening and once awarded the contract award results will be available on BC Bid.
