218825 - RFP - Public Works Truck - Unit 16

The District of Tofino Public Works Department is requesting a proposal for the acquisition of a municipal operations truck. The ideal vehicle will be suitable for general hauling of road materials, vegetation and be capable of mounting snow removal apparatuses. The District of Tofino has a maximum upset budget of $130,000.00 to invest in this new asset. The RFP weighting is not solely on price but includes the District’s preferred manufacturer (See section B2 for list), condition & warranty terms, asset age & milage, and fuel type along with the general ability to meet the statement of requirements

Truck statement of requirements:
1. Minimum Payload Capacity of 4,678 kg / 10,313.22lb
2. Hydraulic controlled dump box from inside the cab
3. Minimum Towing Capacity of 13,607kg / 30,000lb
4. An odometer reading of no more than 50,000km
5. Have a manufactured date no earlier than 2022
6. Possess a 4x4 Drivetrain
7. Must have an Automatic Transmission
8. Audible Reverse Alarm
9. Back up Camera
10. Have a current passed commercial vehicle inspection report
11. Be Registered in the Province of British Columbia
12. Be a Left-Hand Drive Unit
13. Must Have a delivery timeline no later than November 1st 2025

Trade-in Opportunity (Optional) While submission of a trade-in value is not a mandatory requirement for a bid to be deemed responsive, bidders may, at their discretion, include a proposed trade-in value for the District’s existing Unit #16 Truck. The subject vehicle is currently in operational use by the District. Any trade-in exchange shall occur concurrently with the delivery of the replacement unit.
