EN26TFM024 - EN26TFM024 FSR Mechanical Brushing - East Kootenay

BC Timber Sales has legal obligations to maintain access infrastructure to meet all FRPA and SAFETY (WCB/BC Safe Company) requirements. The East Kootenay Field Team (EKFT) manages hundreds of km’s of resource roads annually. BCTS will work with the Contractor to ensure that road maintenance standards are achieved. This is a solicitation for Right-of-Way Mechanical Brushing, with rates set by the brushing difficulty level, per kilometer.

Roadside mechanical brushing of approximately 21.2 km of BCTS Forest Service Road. Works require re-establishment of the original right-of-way boundaries. The objective is to optimize the driving visibility and safety of each road section that forms this contract.

The brushing has been classed as approximately 2.2 km of Light, 10.1 km of Moderate, 8.9 km of Heavy brushing.

The roads being brushed are within the Mark Creek Community Watershed behind a locked gate. As access is not available to the public to view the work being contracted out, a  Mandatory Viewing Meeting is required to submit a bid. Mandatory viewing meeting dates are available on  September 5th and/or 8th 2025, at 9:00 AM Mountain Standard Time, (8:00 AM Pacific Standard Time). The meeting location will at the start of Mathew Ck FSR after turning off  St Mary’s Lake road. Scheduling a viewing must be arranged  by 4:00 pm (MST) September 3rd by contacting Christian Grauers, Contract Representative at Christian.Grauers@gov.bc.ca.

Cranbrook, British Columbia will be considered the Marshalling Point for this contract.
The terms and conditions of the Contract or Tender Documents or addendum thereto supersede questions and answers or discussions made at the Mandatory Viewing Meeting. Questions and answers or discussions made at the Mandatory Viewing Meeting are non-binding unless made in writing as an addendum to the Contract or Tender Documents.

All contract related questions must be submitted in writing ONLY to the following email address: Forests.KootenayTimberSalesOffice@gov.bc.ca.  Deadline for receiving questions is  12:00 pm on  September 9, 2025.  If questions are received, a Question & Answer document will be posted to BC Bid by  September 10, 2025.
    
Tender submissions must be submitted in accordance with the terms and conditions specified in the tender package.
    
If your bid deposit is in the form of cash, money order, certified cheque or bank draft, you will not be able to e-bid. See allowable submission delivery method(s) above. Also see Conditions of Tender for acceptable bid securities.

The lowest priced or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.

Unverified bid results will be posted to BC Bid after tender opening and once awarded the contract award results will be available on BC Bid.
