219531 - PHSA RFP 15216 Allogeneic Grafts and Medical Device Based Grafts

The scope of this project are grafts used in the surgical repair/reconstruction of human bone and tissue along with instruments used to prepare grafts which are not currently covered by the scope of an existing PHSA contract. The RFP includes two (2) main Categories:

• Category 1: Allogeneic Grafts- minimally manipulated human cells, tissues, and organs intended for transplantation. Their integrity and function are preserved during processing. Includes bone grafts, bone void fillers, dermal grafts, osteochondral grafts and soft tissue grafts. Excludes non-homologous tissue use (xenograft).​ The following Category Table for Category 1: Allogeneic Grafts shows an overview of subcategories included based on recent usage data and may not represent a comprehensive list of all products available in the Canadian market.
• Category 2: Medical Device Based Grafts- ​These grafts and devices follow the definitions outlined in the Canadian Food and Drugs Act as an item/component used in diagnosis or treatment of disease/disorder or its symptoms, or in the restoration, modification or correction of the body structure in whole or part.​ These grafts may have been more than minimally manipulated or altered in form or function. The grafts may be comprised of allograft (human tissue), xenograft (non-human tissue), synthetic materials, or any combination of those three components.
