Forestry Innovation Investment (FII) is responsible for creating, maintaining, and diversifying export markets for British Columbia’s forest products through collaboration with trade associations, research institutions, and other stakeholders. Each year, FII invests in market development programs and initiatives designed to strengthen and grow B.C.’s forest economy, with priority markets including Canada, China, Japan, South Korea, India, Vietnam and the United Kingdom.

FII sees strong potential in the MENA region and plans to conduct primary research to assess market opportunities for B.C. products and guide future market development initiatives.
The goal of this work is to better understand B.C./Canada’s opportunities and gather more information on:

How the MENA softwood market operate today
Insights into the strategies and strengths of leading European and Russian suppliers
Recommendations on where and how B.C./Canada can position itself to compete successfully
