Halifax Water’s Peninsula Sewer Separation Program was initiated in 2018, aimed at diverting stormwater from the existing combined sewer system to improve capacity to accommodate future development. The proposed College Street Sewer Separation is the next phase of the program, involving extension of the trunk storm system between Cathedral Lane and Summer Street. The project scope involves installation of a new 1050mm diameter storm system, from the Cathedral Lane intersection to just before Summer Street. The scope will include connection of catchbasins and dedicated stormwater laterals within the project area. Halifax Water is looking to obtain construction services in order to complete the College Street portion of the sewer separation program.
