Description

The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) currently operates an Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) built on SharePoint 2016 within a Collabware environment, hosted on Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard. With SharePoint 2016 extended support ending July 14, 2026, RDOS must migrate its on-premises SharePoint Server and Collabware-based EDMS to a SharePoint Online service.

This migration is critical to ensure a stable and secure environment through the remainder of 2026, minimizing operational risks associated with aging infrastructure. Additionally, RDOS anticipates initiating a full redesign of its Records Management system beginning in 2027, making this migration a foundational step toward future modernization. The project is designated as a priority for 2026 and needs to be completed by June 30, 2026.
