Description

Trade Agreement: WTO-AGP/NAFTA/AIT/Canada FTAs with Peru/Colombia/Panama Tendering Procedures: All interested suppliers may submit a bid Competitive Procurement Strategy:

Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement: No Nature of Requirements:

(a) Requirement The Munition Experimental Test Centre has a requirement for the supply of one 2D digital X-ray / 3D Computed

Tomography Inspection System (CTIS) due to the

increasing demand for 3-dimensional measuring of

components to find hidden defects (e.g. shrink holes, cracks, inclusions, pores, etc.) in the depth of a

material and to determine the exterior and interior

physical dimension of a specimen. Computed Tomography

(CT) allows the inspection and measurement of hidden

and inaccessible specimen characteristics, which is

not possible with other techniques.

The procurement for this CTIS is necessary to improve the support of tests and evaluation trials for the

Department of National Defence (DND).

This 3D inspection system will permit to produce 2D digital x-ray and 3D representations of components both externally and internally without disassembly

or destruction of the part and also permit failure

analysis, assembly analysis, dimensional

measurements and allowing reverse engineering

projects to be moved faster into prototype

fabrication.

(d) Security Requirements There are security requirements associated with

this requirement.

(e) Trade Agreements The requirement is subject to the provisions of

the World Trade Organization Agreement on

Government Procurement (WTO-AGP), the North

American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA),

the Agreement on Internal Trade (AIT), and

the Chile, Colombia, Panama, Peru Trade

Agreements with Canada.
