VHS-2017-010-B - Bethel Senior Citizens Residence Fire Alarm Panel Upgrade

This project involves the replacement of the existing fire alarm system and related devices and wiring with a new addressable, single stage fire alarm system. Exiting wiring shall be replaced with new wiring. Existing conduit may be reused where possible as long as the class A loops are maintained. Removed material shall be disposed of at an approved recycling facility for redundant construction material. Fire alarm detection devices contain radioactive material and shall be disposed of in an approved environmentally friendly process. Documentation of waste management certificates is required for final approval and acceptance.
Auto dialler is upgraded to current ULC standards for monitoring by Owner. Notification devices are upgraded and added inside the suites for visual and audio notification. Fire alarm system monitors the operations of a elevator recall and sprinkler devices. This contractor shall apply for building, electrical and fire permits within 5 business days of award of the contract. One day has been allowed for the verification. Fire watch is required by code whenever the fire alarm system is disabled. The fire watch requirement will be waived upon submission of the fire pre-verification report identifying the system being trouble free and ready for verification.
Elevator’s recall relays are part of this upgrade. This contractor is responsible for the integration testing and verification of the fire alarm devices related to this elevator upgrade.
All construction activities, documentation submissions, commissioning and verification activities related to this project shall be completed by March 14, 2018.
