The City of Calgary (“The City”) is looking for qualified suppliers to supply and deliver carbon dioxide (CO2) for use in the water treatment process and the rental of an accompanying on-site carbon dioxide storage system.
The rental of the storage system and monitoring equipment will include but may not be limited to: installation, certification, commissioning, regular and emergency maintenance, and continuous monitoring. The equipment must be new and free from all defects.
The CO2 storage areas at the Glenmore and Bearspaw water treatment plants are sized to accommodate two (2), sixty (60) tonne CO2 storage tanks, however, only one (1) thank is required at each plant under this RFP.
In addition to the supply and delivery of CO2 and rental of the storage tanks, The City may rent upgraded refrigeration equipment with the CO2 storage system (above and beyond the base refrigeration specifications provided in Appendix G of this document), to prevent CO2 venting to atmosphere. Rental of this equipment is optional and is subject to power requirements and budget availability.
The Agreement will be for a Term of two (2) years
The Agreement may be renewed in negotiable increments for up to an additional three (3) years for a potential total Term of five (5) years.
The Agreement will not include a POC.
This procurement process is not intended to create and will not create a formal legally binding bidding process and will instead be governed by the law applicable to direct commercial negotiations.
Any Agreement resulting from this opportunity will have a duration lasting until project completion.
