Description

Notice of Intent: Notice is hereby given by The City of Calgary (â€œThe Cityâ€�) of its intent to enter into a contract with Stryker Canada LP for the provision of purchasing new LIFEPAK units, maintaining and servicing existing live and training AED units. Maintenance and servicing include technical service, clinical support service and after sales support services.

Background:
The City requires replacement of all LIFEPAK 1000 Automatic External Defibrillators (AED) that are deployed on front-line apparatus and requires lifecycle replacement to the new version LIFEPAK CR2. The latest model offers improved technology providing greater interoperability between agencies, increase quality assurance and better patient outcomes.

The LIFEPAK 1000 and LIFEPAK CR2 is currently used by all Emergency Medical Services (EMS) paramedic response units and Alberta Health Services (AHS) hospitals within Calgary. In an emergency, The Cityâ€™s Fire Department, EMS and AHS equipment must be interchangeable and emergency staff must be trained on the same AED units to ensure quick response and effective patient care is provided.
