Public Works and Government Services Canada has a requirement for access ramp upgrades to the Community Correctional Centre (CCC) facility in St. Johns, Newfoundland.
The work consists of the furnishing of all plant, labour, equipment and material for the access ramp upgrades.
In general, work under this contract consists of but is not limited to: .1
Removal of 3 exterior wood ramps, platforms and 2 wood steps.

The supply and installation of new concrete ramps, platforms and steps.

The replacement of aluminum doors/frame and hardware located at the main entrance.

Supply and installation of wind screens.
.5
Miscellaneous ground repairs related to the construction, i.e. sodding, geotextile, gravel.

Low voltage electrical work for the temporary removal and re-installation of door hardware and access control devices. Temporary Support of Main Entrance roof canopy.
Site of Work is at: St. Johns Community Correctional Centre (CCC)/ Parole office, Building 531, Pleasantville, St. Johns, NL.
Bidders must refer to R2710T GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS - CONSTRUCTION SERVICES - BID SECURITY REQUIREMENTS (GI) (2020-05-28) for the Integrity Provisions applicable to this requirement.
OPTIONAL SITE VISIT
There will be an optional site visit on August 11, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. On the day of the site visit all interested parties should meet at the Main Entrance of the Community Correctional Centre (CCC), located at 531 Charter Avenue, St. Johns, NL.
Bidders may be requested to sign an attendance form. Bidders who do not attend or send a representative will not be given an alternative appointment but they will not be precluded from submitting a bid. Any clarifications or changes to the bid solicitation resulting from the site visit will be included as an amendment to the bid solicitation.
FAMILIARIZATION WITH SITE
Before submitting a bid, it is recommended that bidders visit the site and its surroundings to review and verify the form, nature and extent of the work, materials needed for the completion of the work, the means of access to the site, any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies and other circumstances which may influence or affect their bid or costs to do the work. No allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on account of error or negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that will apply.
Contractors, bidders or those they invite to site are to review specification Section 01 35 29 - Health and Safety Requirements before visiting site. Take all appropriate safety measures for any visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid.
Obtain prior permission from the Departmental Representative before carrying out such site inspection.
