Description

Alberta Environmental Public Health Information Network (AEPHIN) is an internet-based public health information system that allows for user-friendly and interactive presentation of various types of environmental data relevant to public health. This system of data visualizations and interactions are available to public health professionals, research communities, governments and the general public.

The AEPHIN Site Description and Maintenance document is the foundation of this RFP, and Proponents are expected to be familiar with the document and have a good understanding of the existing web infrastructure and associated mobile application development in addition to the underlying environmental public health knowledge required for the datasets, which are currently listed in the document. The successful Proponent must use the existing framework and non-propriety software programs, unless otherwise directed by Alberta Health.

The successful Proponent will be required to interact with program areas other than the funding branch (i.e., Health Protection) via Alberta Health’s Delivery Manager – e.g., Alberta Health Communications and IT, and Service Alberta. The successful Proponent’s resources cannot work in isolation as the two aspects of the Project – information technology (IT) work and scientific data interpretation – overlap.
