Re: Consultant Services with Metro Vancouver Aboriginal Executive Council (MVAEC)
The City of Vancouver was designated a City of Reconciliation when the framework was
adopted by Council on July 8, 2014. City Council also endorsed the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples at this time.

To that end, notice is hereby given by the City of Vancouver ("City") of its intent to contract with the Metro Vancouver Aboriginal Executive Council (MVAEC) to provide representative services to assist the City in creating the Vancouver Plan.

These services include but are not limited to:

· Provide a key point of contact who acts as the primary liaison to the planning process and coordinates MVAEC's involvement in meetings as needed;
· Facilitate knowledge-sharing, information exchange and capacity building between
MVAEC and its members organizations and the City of Vancouver and its key departments involved in the Vancouver Plan;
· Involvement in defining, evaluating and guiding the work of key consultancies as part of the Vancouver Plan;
· Provide research expertise and guidance on the coordination of our understanding and
framing of unceded ancestral territories, in conjunction with the local First Nations;
and
· Provide a senior staff/director level representative to participate in strategic
alignment meetings with senior staff from public, governmental, and institutional
agencies across the region and;
· Provide expertise to consolidate existing MVAEC and urban Indigenous policies,
priorities, principles and community sentiment to inform emerging policy themes,
public dialogue and engagement approaches and communications materials;
TERM: Approximately two (2) years with one (1) optional one (1) year extension

The contract is valued at approximately $75, 000.00
