Description

The Ministry of the Solicitor General (the “Ministry”) through the Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management (OFMEM) is seeking a qualified Vendor to provide on-call support services to the Provincial Emergency Operations Centre (PEOC).
Scope of Work
During a nuclear emergency, the Vendor`s Personnel would be responsible for making direct contact with technical staff within a reactor facility and determining the status of the reactor and the potential for a radioactive emission. The Vendor’s Personnel would then provide advice based on plant parameters to the PEOC Commander, PEOC Operations Chief and PEOC Duty Officer from a technical and scientific perspective.

In the event of a nuclear emergency, the Vendor`s Personnel must be prepared to support the establishment of the PEOC Scientific Section within four (4) hours of notification by the Ministry, either in person or remotely.

While the Vendor’s Personnel would provide advice to the PEOC Commander, PEOC Operations Chief and PEOC Duty Officer, the ultimate responsibility for any protective action decisions made during a nuclear emergency would rest with the PEOC Commander.
