Tips on Improving Your Vendor Profile to Stand Out to Buyers

Did you know that one of the great features of merx is that buyers can see your company’s profile and learn all about your business? Participating buying organizations can search all registered vendors through filters such as location, category codes, and company name for quick quotes, and more. In addition, buyers can view your profile when looking at which suppliers downloaded documents, responded after the bid closing, as well as generating reports. So, it is incredibly important that your organization’s profile be accurate and provide as much detail as possible to stand out to buyers. Here are some tips to improve your vendor profile.

Make certain key data is up to date

Sometimes changes happen, but with change comes remembering to update your profile. Did your business move offices? Are you now using your cell phone number instead of your work number? Is someone else in charge of your account? It is extremely important that all this information is kept updated, as this is the information participating buyers will use to contact you.

Important note: Use the My Organization section to update your company information; however, if you have multiple contacts with different locations and phone numbers, you will need to update that information within the Contacts section. Once logged in, both sections can be found under the “person icon” where all your account information is located or click here.

Certifications matter

Are you a certified MWDBE or Veteran owned business within your province? Make certain that you fill out all the information to include any certifications or designations that buyers are looking to find. Ensuring that this information is filled out in your profile allows buyers to see that your company has specific certifications or designations that set you apart and will help connect you with open solicitations that are specifically set aside for certified businesses. You can add your business type and/or certification type through the My Organization page.

Stand out from the competition

Within your organization’s profile, there is an optional section to add your logo, upload sell-sheets or brochures and even add a product/service video. You can also include a full company description and highlights of the products or services that you offer to buyers directly. This advertising section is an extra way to have your company stand out from the competition and be seen by buyers. You will automatically have access to this advertising section if you have or plan to upgrade to the premium plans.
