SkillPlan was formed in 1991 to provide workforce development training solutions that address learning challenges in the construction industry. We are currently looking for an individual/firm to provide Video Production and Editing Services.
OBJECTIVE
SkillPlan is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) for Video Production & Editing Services and is developing a pool of video producers to be used on a regular basis as preferred suppliers. The successful bidders will be added to a select pool of video producers that will be contracted for specific project(s) by the SkillPlan commencing November 1, 2022.
All final work will be owned by SkillPlan. SkillPlan requires the ability to update and maintain files for future use as needed.
SkillPlan reserves the right to use created artwork in additional/future materials as desired.
SCOPE OF WORK
SkillPlan is looking for a video producer to film and edit 27 videos to support six courses including a variety of topics including inclusive & respectful workplaces, mental health & well-being, test anxiety, and Financial Literacy. Each video will be 1-3 minutes in length and include a combination of interview and b-roll footage (b-roll footage will be provided by SkillPlan).
LANGUAGE(S) REQUIRED
The successful bidder(s) must be able to work with both French and English text.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Working closely with the communications lead, create compelling, story moments that fit within the style and pacing of the online learning modules/courses
- Working efficiently as part of a team, or independently, to complete assigned shots
- Submitting storyboard and concepts for review and follow through with notes and feedback if required
- Meeting schedules and deadlines
- Continuing to become familiar with new tools, software, data and other related technology
ADDITIONAL
- Experience in developing material in adult basic ed and/or construction trades

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Period of Award
The award period for the first project will be November 2022 through June 2023. This contract may be renewable upon mutual agreement, but at the discretion of SkillPlan.
PROPOSAL SUBMISSION
All proposals will be evaluated on the presentation of all qualifications. Cost is only one consideration of the requirements and is not the deciding element.
The criteria will consider creativity, flexibility, cost, experience, and familiarity with material development for the construction sector. Proposals that include a continued commitment to a guaranteed non-profit hourly rate for additional projects will be given preference.

Non-Profit Pricing
SkillPlan is a non-profit organization. Offerors should provide any and all discounts available based on its status as a non-profit organization.
Acceptance of Offer and Award
The successful offeror(s) will be added to a select pool of official video producers for SkillPlan. SkillPlan reserves the right to select a proposal in whole or in part, or not to select a proposal, in accordance with the best interests of SkillPlan.
SkillPlan will entertain joint/sub-contracted proposals, where appropriate proof of competence can be established. In the event that there is only one bidder on the project, SkillPlan reserves the right to negotiate for the services with the bidder submitting the proposal in lieu of accepting the proposal as is.
The selected bidder will be notified no later than October 28, 2022, and will be required to sign a contract with SkillPlan upon acceptance of the project.

The following items are to be included in your proposal. All materials submitted will be retained except for proposals received after the deadline.
Cover Letter
The letter should introduce the designer/firm and provide a summary of qualifications as well as any exceptions to the RFP.
Designer/Firm Information and/or Resume
Provide the designer/firm name, address, phone number, name of principals if applicable, main project contact, and website. Year designer/firm was established and/or year providing graphic design services began.
A comprehensive list of services that the designer/firm provide. Describe previous graphic design experience.
Designer/Firm References
Provide the names and contact information for three client references. We reserve the right to contact the references provided as well as other references without prior notification to the designer/firm. It is preferred, but not required that bidders have experience providing services to non-profit organizations.
Samples of Similar Work
Provide three examples of previous graphic design work that include at least one multi-page newsletter/magazine.
Approach to Scope of Work
Briefly describe any project approaches or ideas that the designer/firm feels will separate them from other bidders.
