Description

The purpose of this Project is to update, to current mapping and technical standards, the Lake Erie shoreline flooding, erosion, and dynamic beach hazard mapping within Norfolk County. The Project Study Area is shown in Figure 1. Updated hazard mapping is required to support flood and erosion-related response and mitigation planning, as well as land use planning and permitting decisions in at-risk communities such as Port Dover, Long Point, Turkey Point and other shoreline resort areas within the County. The Project also will update the National Disaster Mitigation Program Risk Assessment Information Template for shoreline flooding, including estimates of damage potential (see Task 4). Updates to the conservation authority shoreline management plan are outside the scope of the Project.

The submission shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope, clearly marked “CONFIDENTIAL - NORFOLK COUNTY LAKE ERIE HAZARD MAPPING” and should include four (4) hard copies of the submission and one (1) electronic copy in PDF format on CD/DVD or USB flash drive. It is the Proponent’s sole responsibility to ensure that the hard copy, CD/DVD or USB flash drive submission contains the same information. The LPRCA will not be liable for any discrepancy between the hard copy submission and the electronic copy.

All submitted proposals including costs are public information and subject to the Freedom of Information and Privacy Acts. LPRCA reserves the right to cancel this RFP for any reason without any liability. Awarding of the contract based on the RFP must go before the LPRCA Board of Directors for final approval.
