Marine Atlantic Inc. (MAI) invites offers from qualified Vendors for the Bunker C Removal in Port of Basques, NL Project.

The project is located at the Marine Atlantic Ferry Terminal site in Port aux Basques, Newfoundland.

The Work generally includes, but it is not necessarily limited to, the following:

• Removal of bunker C (heavy fuel oil) product contained within the existing heavy fuel oil fuel delivery piping. The marine Atlantic fuel system piping consists of two existing piping systems heavy fuel oil (HFO) and marine diesel oil (MDO). This project does not require any scope of work with MDO piping.
• Contractor shall isolate and remove all residual bunker C or similar fuel from the insulated pipe located between the fuel terminal pump house and the various points at Docks #1 and #2 in accordance with the drawings.
• Any piping that requires demolition to facilitate the cleaning process shell be transported offsite by the contractor to an acceptable scrap material facility buy a license salvage dealer or licensed construction and demolition landfill in accordance with the applicable provincial and federal legislation and regulations.
• Contractor shall be responsible for all products removed from the piping along with any cleaning agents and contaminated liquids. The contractor shall arrange for disposal at a licensed disposal facility that meets applicable provincial and federal legislation and regulations.
• Contractor to ensure that the cleaned piping is closed at the completion of the project to prevent any ingress of debris or liquids from an open system.
• Mobilization and demobilization, including all labor and equipment as specified and as required to carry out the work.
• Contractor shall perform the work included as indicated on the drawings in this specification by providing all supervision, labour, materials, supplies, construction tools, equipment and services, hoisting, transportation, receiving, handling, storage, disposal, and all other services and expenditures, unless otherwise specified in the scope, including those not specifically mentioned but which are necessary for completion of work.
• Any damage to coatings of neighboring piping shall be repaired to match existing. Supply and install paint coating for bare metal surfaces, where required. Surface to be prepared for the application of finished coating to meet manufacturer’s instructions.

• Preparation, submission, and implementation of an approved Construction Schedule.
• Preparation, submission, and implementation of an approved Site-Specific Safety Plan.
• Preparation, submission, and implementation of an approved Site-Specific Environmental
• Protection Plan.
• Preparation, and submission of a Project Execution Methodology.

• Enlèvement du mazout C (mazout lourd) contenu dans les conduites de mazout lourd existantes. Les conduites du système d’alimentation en carburant de Marine Atlantique comprennent deux types de carburant : le mazout lourd (HFO) et l’huile diesel marine (HDM). Ce projet ne nécessite pas de travaux impliquant les conduites de HDM.
• L’entrepreneur doit isoler et retirer tous les résidus de mazout C ou de carburant semblable de la conduite isolée située entre la station de pompage du terminal de carburant et les différents points des quais n° 1 et n° 2, conformément aux dessins.
• Toute conduite devant être démolie pour faciliter le processus de nettoyage doit être transportée hors site par l’entrepreneur vers un ferrailleur acceptable, un récupérateur agréé ou une décharge de construction et de démolition agréée, conformément aux lois et aux règlements provinciaux et fédéraux en vigueur.
• L’entrepreneur est responsable de tous les produits retirés des conduites ainsi que des produits de nettoyage et des liquides contaminés. L’entrepreneur doit prendre les dispositions nécessaires pour l’élimination dans une installation d’élimination agréée qui respecte les lois et règlements provinciaux et fédéraux en vigueur.
• L’entrepreneur doit s’assurer que les conduites nettoyées sont fermées à la fin du projet afin d’éviter toute pénétration de débris ou de liquides provenant d’un système ouvert.
• La mobilisation et la démobilisation, y compris toute la main-d’œuvre et l’équipement spécifiés et nécessaires à l’exécution des travaux.
• L’entrepreneur doit effectuer les travaux indiqués sur les dessins de la présente spécification en fournissant la supervision, la main-d’œuvre, les matériaux, les fournitures, les outils de construction, les équipements et les services, le levage, le transport, la réception, la manutention, le stockage, l’élimination et tous les autres services et dépenses, sauf indication contraire dans la portée, y compris ceux qui ne sont pas expressément mentionnés, mais qui sont nécessaires à l’achèvement des travaux.
• Tout dommage causé aux revêtements des conduites voisines doit être réparé. Fournir et installer un revêtement en peinture pour les surfaces métalliques nues, le cas échéant. La surface doit être préparée pour l’application du revêtement fini conformément aux instructions du fabricant.

• Préparation, soumission et mise en œuvre d’un calendrier approuvé des travaux.
• Préparation, soumission et mise en œuvre d’un plan de sécurité approuvé spécifique au site.
• Préparation, soumission et mise en œuvre d’un plan de protection approuvé de l’environnement
• spécifique au site.
• Préparation et soumission d’une méthodologie d’exécution du projet.
