Summary
This project involves construction of a pavilion to display the 1948 de Havilland Vampire Mark III aircraft
at the Comox Air Force Museum Heritage Air Park. As the Vampire’s partial wooden construction
prevents storage outside, it has been kept in a hanger since it’s arrival at CFB Comox in 2000. This
project will provide a permanent home for the Vampire on full display to the public. The pavilion
features a large roof overhang and glass enclosure to protect the aircraft from the elements, while
allowing up-close viewing from all sides. Site works, subgrade services, foundations, and slab were
completed previously in Phase 1 of this project. This current tender package is for the remainder of the
Pavilion’s construction including the following scopes:
- Structural Steel, Trusses, and Metal Decking
- Cedar Soffits
- Spray Insulation
- Roofing
- Metal Cladding
- Gutters and Rainwater Leaders
- Aluminum Doors, Frames, Glazing
- Drywall and Steel Stud
- Painting
- HVAC
- Electrical
